Although this book is 25 years old, it’s still fresh and relevant. Babies will love lifting the flap to reveal the different animals that arrive in boxes. (The zoo keeps sending the narrator different and inappropriate pets – like an elephant). We won’t give away the ending – but eventually he gets the perfect pet. The actual animal names are never mentioned, but most kids won’t mind. Parents can have fun roaring, ribbit-ing and ooh ooh aah-ing like the different animals.
